Burning Ships

All ships burn like Terran buildings when their health is low. This is a cosmetic suggestion, they wouldn't lose health when their health is low.

Maybe have the doodads inside the BC burn as well, no idea if that's feasible/easy to do.

For that instance, you need a point by point system which is quite hard to make. When cruiser moves those dummies are moving along the cruiser which is almost demanding system, which isn't a smart way to do in SC2, where checking angles is the most effective solution if the mapper decide to implement such system.

In wc3, that is seperated into 6 sections which checks for position of dead projectile which checks which "dummy" section of the cruiser killed the projectile and links it to a region inside the cruiser.

In Starcraft 2, we check the angle as well to get which part of the ship got hit(front, back, left, right) and it then creates debris and fire in the corresponding section of the ship.

As for ship burning on the outside, it depends on how detailed you want to do it. I could attach fires with actors which wouldn't be very demanding. The easiest way to do it would be randomly as health decreases but I don't think making it correspond to where you've taken the most damage would be that hard either.

I'd also like to see cosmetical fire, both inside and outside.
Outside I would have a % chance to create a fire according to how much HP the BC has and below a certain HP.
I suppose the same would apply inside.

I was thinking whatever makes the Terran buildings smoke & burn graphically, apply it to all ships. I don't think I would notice if someone hit a destroyer on the nose and the rear part of the ship burst into flame.
