Redirect power

Examples: You can put let's say 200 GW to engines... and if you cut engines then that 200gw is wasted... it would be cool if you shut down the engines ... all the power that should have gone to the engines would go back to the main capacitor ( that's what would happen in reality right? ) and when you power on the engines ( maybe add a 2-5 second casting time ) use power relative to the max speed... so you max the engines... you use 100% of what energy you put in them... if you slow down (s) to half of the max speed ... you only use half of the energy put into shields.
This would make the bc much more maneuverable especially in early and mid game ( the bc is basically just a sitting rock that has lasers in the early part of 90% of games ) and also would make the energy guy not spam the power console to cut power to the engines Smile

Another interesting ideea but one that needs to be thought out properly is redirecting power from one part of the ship to another... right now you just power up what ever you need and power down what you don't ( and it takes a while )...
Example usage:
Let's say you're in a battle and you think you don't have a chance of winning and would like to run and regroup... right now the only way to do is ... is boost and hope you can juice up the engines fast enough. But if you could instantly redirect all power from weapons or shields ( or both ) to the engines and then boost... you would be a sitting duck... but a very very fast sitting duck Smile

Same goes for shields and weapons, example: you have 100GW in shields , 100GW in weapons , 100GW in engines... if you stop ( and taking into account my first suggestion ) the 100GW from the engines would be redirected back to the capacitor because it's not in use but if you could instantly redirect power from the engines to the shields that means you could switch 100GW from engines to shields just like that... and that could be a life saver Smile ( think lots of missiles )

And weapons: you're out of power in the weapons capacitor... the enemy also... what can you do? redirect all power from engines and shields to weapons and blast them to hell Smile ( or keep shields on if that's what you want )...

Together theese 2 features could make a far more interesting game... both in early and in late game.

Let's say you put 500GW of energy in the engines from the start but keep them off Smile when the kerm comes up you can get there in no time Smile ( so could the enemy )... and the fighting begins.

I assume that when you write about redirecting the power from the engines to other systems you postulate that all kinetic energy from the battlecruiser could be recharged into capacitor. You would need a bumper connected to generator and a huge asteroid to do that. As you have probably deduced the CC physics system isn't exactly consistent with the Newton Laws. The reason for this is Siretu's intention to make the game more playable. If the game would be accurate to the laws of physics, then you would be able to speed up really fast and blink all over the map with huge speeds. Still it has it's connections to the Newton's physics, precisely when we are talking about the acceleration like in this example. When accelerating to the vehicle max speed, or de accelerating to full stop the physics system is more consistent with the Laws of Motion than when you reach the maximal speed, and can't go any faster.

Still I agree that in early game the BC is very often stationary. One can assume that is an intention.

I just understood what u mean

I think that I've just understood what You mean. You would like engines to load up the capacitors when the power is directed to them, but they are not working? Or you mean what I understood earlier?
